Jeff Grant wrote The Swamp in 2020 based on his two decades at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). While at the CIA, he worked in the Directorate of Science and Technology and the Directorate of Intelligence, Office of Scientific Intelligence. At the NRO, he served as Director, Office of Plans and Analysis.

After leaving the CIA, Jeff went into the private sector where his most recent position was serving as the Sector Vice President and General Manager of Space Systems at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems.

Jeff invited Jason Baum to collaborate on The Sewer in 2025. Before that, he spent thirty years in advertising, marketing, and television production. His portfolio spans the technology and entertainment industries. At Sprint International, he oversaw consumer multimedia at the dawn of the World Wide Web in 1992. At the Washington Commanders, he served as VP of Marketing for six seasons before moving to Dick Clark Productions, which was also part of the Commanders’ portfolio.
